Amazing cards and research!! Likely not related but earlier in the year, Heritage Auctions offered David Hall's T206 Chance Portrait Sovereign 460. Even though I needed this card, I passed on it because of a pink sort of stain on it. But when I originally saw it back in January, it reminded me of the Tolstoi Pinks.

 I used to own that chance.....I traded to a board member for a song!!!UGH!! a beat up blank back......I always wondered about that layer on that card  it did have a light magenta layer on top those sovereign 460 super prints are insanely tough....the Cobb Sovereign 460 is just about as tough as a Cobb back!  actually tougher!
