I know we're probably supposed to be talking baseball, but thought since football is coming soon I'd share my football room.
This room is dedicated to NFL HOF QB's, but I do have some memorabilia of other players (L Taylor, B Sanders, Sayers, etc.).

Very nice room Dan...and football is very acceptable. LOL.
By the way, as an avid member of not only this site, but of AVSforum, I'm curious as to what type of AV equipment you have in the room.

I have Control 4 Home Automation for my whole house. I have mostly Bose speakers along with a Sony DA5700ES (5+ yrs old), ButtKicker, and a Sony 85" TV. I'll go back to a projector someday. If you look in the front you can see a "screen" that we painted on the wall.

Nice guys! I've only got an old 42in TV in the memorabilia room (a square shaped room) but will either get rid of it or get a 50in (that's all that would fit due to the memorabilia on the walls). Originally it was to only watch sports films as I was sitting looking at the memorabilia but in reality I rarely use it and could use the wall space. My main theater is in the bonus room. I have a 70in tv that will be upgraded to 85 when the 70 craps out, 5.1 Polk RTI series speakers, a Marantz AVR and a WD NAS with all my movies and TV shows. Nice to be able to stream to any of my TV's from one location.

"So I have a question. It is about binders in which folks put 9 pocket sheets with cards. I see them on shelves sitting on end. How does one do this without the pages sagging/drooping down, thus causing damage to some cards"
Actually I would suggest that storing cards in a binder in 9/12/whatever pages sitting upright on the shelf might pose a problem down the road as gravity puts pressure on the cards at the lowest points causing the sheets and possibly the cards to curve. Not a huge concern but something to be aware of if it's to sit over an extended period of time.... |

I understand the concern as well.
I only have 4 binders, but I have always laid them flat. Just seems like the safest way. For those people who have dozens of albums, I guess laying them all flat would present quite a spatial challenge. Last edited by perezfan; 09-04-2020 at 01:40 PM. |

are stored sideways so that they hang down from the binder rings....Most are trade cards, silks, and cabinet photos - none in 9 pocket pages :-)

To avoid the sagging of binder pages, I think the key is preventing the binder front and back covers from splaying out by keeping them close to the front and back pages. If a binder is pretty much full, you can do this by sliding it upright between large books or other binders that are similarly full. If a binder isn't full, and the rigid front and back covers aren't close to parallel, then it's tougher to accomplish. Another way to address this problem is to purchase slip covers that binders slide into.

I started to finally do the mancave during the Pandemic. My focus is mainly baseball hall of famers, but A couple of others genres sneaked in also. Nearly all baseballs you see are signed IP by Hall of Famers, Current and Past Stars and future HOFers. My son put together a YouTube as well with me. (Please cut us some slack, I never did one before and he is 13). If you like, feel free to subscribe as I will go into more in depths of the collection and baseball autograph hobby. My walls give just a taste of the collection.

Amazing collection Frank. Did you dictate the layout for the framed pieces? And your son did a great job. Maybe he has a future in the film industry.
