My Dad bought me my first pack of cards after church one sunday, a pack of 67 topps baseball. Man I'd like to have an unopened pack of 67's to open with my Dad.

I'd like to find in the wild a couple packs of 1975 Topps to open to remember that Summer of Rice and Lynn arguing who was better and falling in love with the Sox in more simpler times..

"An unopened 1914 Cracker Jack box..."

Yum! Crunchy!

I can't help you with the pack, but somebody has one of the wrappers for sale.

We come from different eras, but you guys are making me think that I should stock up on junk wax.

I literally dream about this stuff sometimes. My heart (which is with pre-war) would say a case of unopened cigarette packs that contain a T206...brand doesn't necessarily matter to me (maybe Broadleaf 460's ).

My head would say like others, 1952 Topps High Number. I would sell the hell out of them to fund my pre-war obsession and get a little place up in Door Co. WI to get away from it all.

I'd keep one of each (unopened) just to have.

Fun topic!

Bill

Bill, Is this what you are looking for? 12 packs of Sweet Caporal in an unopened case. Sorry, not BroadLeaf 460s!

I'd like a sealed envelope from the Goudey Company with a 1934 postmark, addressed to some young collector. And if you hold it up to the light, you can see the outline of a single card, with no paperclip on it.

that'll do! Question though...shouldn't they be able to be 100% certain if this case aligns with the time, series, tax stamp to validate if cards are inside? The next question...if you're the winning bidder do you crack this puppy to look at the packs for the details?

I would...and probably get skewered for doing so by the purists

I would definitely open up the case and pop a few packs just for fun. Imagine if the 1st and 2nd packs have Wagners, would u continue? (I would just sell the rest claiming those packs have Wagner inside......but who would believe me)

Why am I still dreaming? Had my 3rd coffees since this morning just now. hehe.

What a wonderful dream that would be! I would love to see that on video, will you could take a happy dream as a child and a happy memory and turning into an adult memory with your dad all those years later. I wish I could help out with a pack but maybe somehow you’ll come into one someday and you and your dad can have that amazing moment.

For me, single pack would probably be a pack of old judge cigarettes with a guaranteed card inside. It would just be so amazing as so many of these other posts have been.

As far as the box goes, 52 Topps hi numbers I would open two packs on a live stream video. Then of course I would put about 10 packs in a safe deposit box and the rest I would auction off one at a time at a good auction house and even one on net 54!!!!It would be incredible and of course all the packs would be PSA authenticated. We can only dream and big thumbs up to the original poster of this thread I love it. I would even love a 52 Topps wrapper but unfortunately financial means and unemployment make that probably never possible, but you never know, right?

15 years ago I was really into the 1938 Goudey set. I did a ton of research on it, and I had a website where I displayed all the things I'd learned, about the wrappers, the two different sheets, and speculation as to why the cards were repeated twice, based on discussions I'd had with a Goudey family historian.

One day out of the blue, I got an email from someone who's grandparents owned a candy store. The way I remember it, he had 20 unopened packs of 1938 Goudey. He hadn't known what they were, and stumbled onto my website while he was trying to figure out what he had. Since I had the wrappers on my site, he emailed me.

I nearly lost my mind. We emailed back and forth a few times, I was hoping to steer him towards REA for the consignment (LOTG didn't exist yet, my company was designing the REA catalog each year and I have a good relationship with Rob), and was hoping to be able to buy just one of the packs myself.

Ultimately, he made a comment about the cards inside being "mint." I told him that the packs were much more valuable than the cards inside, and he disappeared! I don't think there was any reason for him to lie, so I suspect that either A) he wanted to know if there was any value in what he had, and once he realized there was, he put them away for another time, or B) he opened the packs himself.

After I started LOTG I tried emailing him a number of times, with no response. C'est La Vie, I guess. But wow, would I love a find of unopened '38 Goudey.

Just the idea of this as a possibility is horrific.
