Default What's your daydream unopened "find"

No need to "daydream" for me.

Exactly, 68 years ago this month.....I spent all my weekly allowance (50 cents) and purchased ten 1952 TOPPS wax-packs.

When I opened the last pack and started shuffling thru the cards, there he was.......Mickey Mantle.
That was the end of my BB card collecting. I moved on to Comics, Girls, and Cars

Truly guys, I still remember this event as if it had occurred this morning. I will never forget it.

1951 Bowman or 1933 Goudey would be fun

How about a pack of last series 1951 Bowmans? Well, it happened to me, and, yes, I pulled a beautiful Mantle rookie. Kept it for years, then made a trade blunder and it was gone forever. Seventy years later, that one still hurts.

Default "box"/case

of 1959 Bazooka bubble gum boxes incuding the short print boxes. Mmmmm, can practically smell the gum.

That's an AWESOME story Ted!

Eric

These 5 cards which I have displayed in Post #36 are my original 1952 TOPPS which were in a 5-cent waxpack that I acquired 68 years ago this month.
It was the very last pack of 1952 TOPPS cards I purchased.....and, that's probably why I remember it so well.

I purchased the wrapper in 1981 at the Willow Grove Show here in Pennsylvania.

I need 29 mid-series Gray backs to complete my 1952 TOPPS master set (approx. 555 cards).

Ted, I assume u have handled those 5 cards quite a bit correct? or they really came out with such "round corners" from the pack??
