Best running back i've ever seen. Had he not been injured early in his career his numbers would be on top of all.

He was electric. Yes, great in the open field but he was often in the open field because he'd amazingly escaped from behind the line. Also a great returner. Sanders is probably the most comparable back, but I think Sayers was quicker and more elusive, and I know that's saying a lot. RIP, Gayle Sayers.
