Found this from the SF Examiner from 1911. A bank encouraging young boys to save their nickles rather than buying Zeenuts for the cards!

Just a thought: If a Zeenut with a card cost a nickel when first introduced in 1911, and if the bank paid 3% interest per year, that nickel would double in a bank account in about 17 years. By 1928 the nickel would be worth 10¢, by 1945 20¢, by 1962 40¢, by 1979 80¢, by 1996 $1.60 and by 2013 $3.20 . . . so let say today it has almost increased to $5.00. Would you be willing to pay $5.00 for a Zeenut candy treat with a card? What's a 1911 Zeenut card worth today?

Thanks for the interesting twist on buying a Zeenut or not.
