I picked up this 1948 Philadelphia Bulletin Stand-Ups of Elmer Valo because I rooted for him when I was a kid after reading (on the the back of a baseball card, I think) that he was the only Major Leaguer born in Czechoslovakia. My mother's parents (my grandparents) immigrated from Czechoslovakia c.1910, and her brothers were born there.

Die cuts are common in vintage Japanese cards. Michio Nishizawa, Makoto Kuzuru, and Lefty O'Doul.

I had a Berra back in 1979-80. Man, you almost never see the Current All-Star cards.

From a scrapbook I purchased 30 plus years ago. Not completely off topic did anyone else follow the E125 Clark in the last REA? Sold for like 15% of the first time an E125 Clarke was sold by REA. Again a case of a set that is too rare for its own good. I was underbidder and regret not going one more.

Great submissions all. I think we have examples of all the machine cut ones that I know of, except for the 1912 J=K Candy set, but feel free to post something else that hasn't been shown, or even duplicates of previously shown.
Here is another example of an 'activated' Batter Up card. Brian...and nairB, my somewhat backwards friend |
