I just dug out my lunch box from first grade, the only year I carried lunch to school. I believe it's from 1962 or 1963. It has a space capsule on one side and a rocket taking off on the other side. Didn't they call it the John Glenn lunch box? I also have the thermos. Sorry no pics. It's the style of this one
from ebay only mine is in much better condition. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-196...p2047675.l2557 Last edited by GaryPassamonte; 02-26-2021 at 02:14 PM. |

The"Orbit" lunchbox is pretty cool.
As I understand it, the images of the Mercury manned space flight module and the Atlas used on the lunchbox were lifted from National Geographic, and Thermos received a cease and desist and stopped production.
