I have a feeling a regular Topps Orr in a PSA 8 should hit six figures or close to it. The last one sold for $85K at Goldin. What's crazy to me is that a PSA 8 Bill Russell in the same auction went for over $300K but the Orr hasn't even broken $100K in the same grade. Definitely keeping my other Orr stuff long term.

I think a sudden surge in supply in the market didn't help.
1x PSA 7 Test and 1x PSA 8 Test sold the week before in Heritage. And then your 1x PSA 8 Test came to auction the next week. Goldin's website did crash just before 10pm which may/may not have affected your final sell price. They did extend the auctions 1 hr and 15min to compensate. Did Goldin charge 5% commission on the sale or were you able to get a better rate since its a hockey featured item? |
