When I took the pictures of my Zarillas, I realized that the black back was significantly smaller than the red back so apparently it was trimmed when I bought it years ago. Looks like card doctoring is not a new phenomenon.

I forget the poster but they posted an article from a dealer in the 70's, I believe, and in the writing the seller clearly wrote his card was perfect for trimming/cleaning up as the borders were wide/big. I have no idea, but doctoring cards back then, when they weren't worth much, might have been a normal thing? My black back Al Zarilla.
