Well I just bid on a card with 25 seconds to go, waiting on purpose, only to be told that the lot is closed. And then that the auction ran until 12:39, which is a about eight minutes from now. Very disappointing
Now it says that same auction ran until 12:44, which is again in the future.

Won a couple auctions and this is the message. Makes sense except the part where the auction ran until 9 minutes from now lol.
This lot is closed. Bidding is not allowed. Item was in Auction "REA Spring 2021", which ran from 4/2/2021 12:00 PM to 4/19/2021 12:43 AM |

I believe that is the projected earliest time it can now end, based on the ten minute window. Once the auction ends that clock will show the exact end time.

Maybe so, but that doesn't explain how I bid on a ticking clock on the exact auction item only to be told the lot was closed and bidding was not allowed.

Snafu. I would expect better from REA. Other than that it was a bloodbath, congrats to the Net54 members who won, time for a Whiskey.

Same here. Went down but I was able to get back on. Watched the last of the 10 minute countdown and at 10 after it said lot closed. Then it opened back up for the 20 minutes. Then I read the email. No other bids. Closed again.
I’m assuming I won the lot. Not really sure.

I should try and not start drinking until after the auction is over. I thought I saw the auctions re-open, but thought it was just the beer.
Anyway, fun auction. I scored a small group of Buchner's. Lost out on a number of other lots I wanted. Not to go over everyone's heads with literary references, but as the modern day poet, Dolly Parton once said, Here you come again, and here I go.

I was hoping for the T3 WaJo (SGC Gd+) but there were already two bidders going at it as I sat waiting, so I knew my odds weren't good. I threw a strong bid in there after midnight, but it wasn't meant to be. Odds are at least one of those bidders was a net54 member, and hopefully picked it up. If so, congrats on the Turkey!

I think I won a Gehrig photo...wasn't sure at first because of the glitches and policy change.

I think REA did a good job overcoming the extended bidding snafu. From what I can tell, every lot got at least a 10 minute extended bidding, and while things were spotty for about 10 minutes, they fixed whatever the issue was an the auction ended smoothly. Plus, considering prices how strong prices were, I dont think affected consignors much.
I picked this up. I am very happy. |
