Default 1952 Wheaties Tin Tray Premium

I recently picked up a lot of misc items that included 2 B18 blankets and a couple of photos. The pictures on the listing weren't great but I was expecting them to be a couple of cheap framed prints. Turns out that they're 1952 Wheaties Tin Tray Premiums.

I'm pretty happy. If I can pick up the Kiner and the Robinson Trays for the same $19 that this lot cost - I'll be over the moon!

Default 3 1918 RPPC Camp Funston Baseball

Not really a RPPC collector but I did pick up 3 recently that pictures the 1918 Camp Funston baseball team. This team had many MLBers and higher profile athletes. The two came from one of the players but are not signed on the back just short messages so hard to determine which player.

Pete Alexander did play on this team but he was not in camp when they played the Saint Louis Cardinals 2nd teamers and it does not look like to me he is in the team picture...but could be the tall guy standing 5th from the left...but not sure if he wore Army issued glasses which this guy is.

I bought them bc Win Noyes, who would play briefly for the 1919 White Sox, was on this team and is very likely in the team photo...just cant tell which one he is (I have 3 good candidates)

Those tin trays are cool. Are Kiner and Robinson (which one?) the only others?

Yep, there's just 4 in the set. Jackie is the really expensive one.

Default Cleveland Baseball pickups

This month has turned up some fantastic items for my various Cleveland Baseball collections.

1. 1948 Fahrland Fuel Co. Cleveland Indians "Pocket Wallet " Schedule
2. 1950s Royal Castle Hamburgers 8x10 Premium with Jimmy Dudley and Vic Wertz
3. 1961 Carrollton Playgrounds Boosters Club (New Orleans) Baseball Awards Night program, with Jim Piersall on the cover w/ autograph

I am a sucker for event programs with Cleveland Baseball stars on the cover. In this case, Jim Piersall was invited to present the award to the City Champs for 1961, the "Holsum Sunbeams," winners in the 11yr old division. Jim Piersall played for the Cleveland Indians from 1959-61 and is depicted in his Cleveland uniform. On Oct 5. 1961 he was traded to the Washington Senators. As this Baseball Awards Night took place end of October 1961, they kept the Cleveland pic but took care to note his new team.

If anyone has any other event programs with Cleveland ballplayers in particular, I am interested!

Default 1929 Purdue Big 10 Pillow Case

Guys...........I'm thrilled to have picked up this 1929 Purdue Big 10 Champions pillow case this morning at an antique show. The colors and condition are fantastic with only a few small moth holes in the felt. It measures almost 2 feet square including the tassels. And the best part is that my wife loves it, too! Do folks usually frame these, as it's a little thick?

Matt
