I like these but here is an example of why some people don't. My McGraw card is essentially the same as Leon's Hooper card.

Your E91 McGraw has the advantage of being in the 'A' set, while the issuance of the E91C cards besmirched the collector mindset against the E91A and (to a lesser degree) E91B set. Here is McGraw's facial matches as seen in a couple of his cards from the T206 set. Not the same photo used, but I think the similarities are pretty obvious.

This is my favorite set the I have a total of zero cards in. Debated getting into it despite the cost and talked myself out of it because my understanding is they�re generic images of players and not �real� representations of the subjects. Does it matter to folks?

I think that it eventually will matter to folks; when other sets get too pricey and other scarce ones get scarcer. The E91A was released in late 1907/early 1908. And as Brian has shown in his "required Link" above, the artwork (facially) is the actual subject. As I stated above, Bresnahan's RC (distributed in product) is 91A. For those who can't find or afford E107, Plank, Waddell, J. Collins, McGraw. Mathewson and McGinnity in 91A serves as an affordable RC.
Along with Bresnahan, Dummy Taylor, Mordecai Brown, Evers and Tinker call 91A their RC set.
Hmmm, I kinda like it.
