This is the Collectorism that references a Seller's wishful thinking, inability to distinguish players' identities, and/or correctly identify common players. Oddly, the mistaken identity always favors the seller, as it's typically a desirable Hall-of-Fame Player that is misidentified. While Joe Jackson is the most common subject of Blurred Eye Blind, this syndrome is not limited to Shoeless Joe, and can include lesser star players like Ernie Lombardi.
