The albums are large discs bound by string through edge holes. The string can be removed and the discs are often seen and sold singly.
I believe all the 19th-century tobacco albums (most rectangular) are bound this way. Last edited by drcy; 10-25-2021 at 06:09 PM.

I can't find the link to a thread about the A35 Rounds. Someone put together a project for these rounds and the result was nothing short of an incredible work of art. Each round was inserted into a custom holder. It's just incredible.
