I would guess that it's not intentional. It's probably just something done through a third-party advertising company, and you see them because you collect baseball cards.
eBay may not even be aware of it until you point it out to them.

They're probably using an advertising firm. This stuff happens all the time. Companies learn about who they are advertising with through social media. Someone calls out PETA on Twitter because a Bass Pro Shop ad shows up on their website and the Twitter snowflakes all start crying and trying to organize a boycott. PETA executives go crazy trying to figure out how this happened lol.
I won A LOT more cards than I had anticipated buying in last month's PWCC auction simply because my lowball bids held up. Interestingly, the cards were shipped to me from some random address in Los Angeles though. Not from PWCC in Oregon.
