I'm not going to find DiMaggio, Mantle, Aaron or Mays on a cabinet photo.

I agree with this...I like most type 1 photos that have historical significance. If the same player image existed in a cabinet, CDV and press photo (which would be extremely rare) I would want the cabinet photo first. Not sure when the press started taking photos, but it is likely the older cabinet and CDV predate traditional photos taken for media purposes. I also love real photo postcard images. Great topic.

Cabinet photos occur before the eras I collect, so I am limited to press photos. I have occasionally seen personal photos that I like, but I hate that they are so small. Even though they are the size of baseball cards, generally the subject of interest is not in the foreground.

Press, maybe RPPCs, snapshots ….. Cabinets don’t coincide with my collecting interests.
