Well, that narrows it down to 1898/99. Probably his earliest image as a player as well.

And I guess it goes without saying that Meins probably took all of those images and cabinets of each player(or perhaps multiple copies) existed at one time.

I have a decent sized collection of Baseball Magazine supplements (m113 & m114) and have managed to find some of the original photos, here are a few.

A composite press photo from September 1947 for an article discussing Kiner's chasing Babe's mark of 60 home runs. Used for 51 Topps and 47-66 Exhibits (not my cards). It ain't pretty, but it's cool.
