Here is my most recent Giants pickup. I've seen mini versions of this pennant many times, but don't recall seeing a full size version. This is full size, with good colors. It was clearly stored folded up and out of the sun.
Thanks Marc. I'll give that a go.

That Giants pennant is a beauty.

Default Tigers Pennant

Anyone know the year of this pennant? I haven't been able to locate a similar while searching online. Thanks!

Default Eder Mfg Co.

I think I've found a new manufacturer of pennants in the 40s-50s. Eder Mfg Co.

They're still in business today...the largest manufacturer of flags and flagpoles in the USA. But they started out making pillows, felt pennants and rag dolls.

https://ederflag.com/pages/about-us

I wonder what other pennants they might have produced.

Very cool, Gary! I think a lot of early pennant makers also made pillow tops.

Nice Discovery! I have that same pennant, less the tag on the reverse.

Eder Mfg. Co. has been around for more than a century; however, until now, I've never known them to make anything other than collegiate and travel/souvenir pennants. Your discovery tells us that wasn't entirely the case.

I bought a turn of the century Notre Dame pennant with their label on it a few years ago. When I learned that the company was still in operation, I reached out and shared my purchase with them. They were pleased to see it. Today they only make flags and flag pole accessories. I asked when they last made felt novelties, and they really didn't know. She guessed they had stopped making pennants by the 1940s....

If I had to guess, this Braves pennant was likely made in 1952'ish, when everyone in Milwaukee had contracted Braves fever. I seriously doubt Eder made other pennants for other professional sports teams. Eder simply made it because they were the hometown pennant maker, and the demand existed.

Most of their labels from the 1910s look like this one, below.

Thanks for sharing!

I like their 2-color tassels. Not sure I have ever seen another company employ this.... but it's certainly a nice touch.

I agree, it’s a nice touch. Seems to be a characteristic of early 20th century pennants, you’ve seen these before (Tigers is not mine)

Did anyone here win this? What a beautiful pennant. 1949 roster. (Seller had it mistakenly listed as late 50s). These roster pennants have subtle differences in the handwriting style but this one IMO is best.

Before I realized the pennant was for the Milwaukee Braves, I actually though it was older (e.g. 1920s).

Kyle, you're explanation about the Braves fever of 1952 seems plausible to me. I wonder if they used old stock to make the pennants or if they still used that design for other pennants in the 1950s. I'd love to come across a product catalog from Eder from the 1950s.

This is a very tough to find pennant. I have had it before, but only in dark blue with a red spine. One of the earliest Milwaukee pennants. Never seen a green one.

Thank you both, I had a hard time finding any info on it.

It's for sale/trade if anyone is interested. I'm a Cubs fan..so this item is not my collection focus

Couldn't find any room for my AdFlag burgee, so he had to go into the garage. I had to slant it to miss the opener track but I kind of like the slanted look. This guy spent a couple of weeks buried in snow to get the folds out. Funny story about the Spring Training Welcome San Francisco Giants banner...I paid 10 bucks for it and only $5 for shipping. I think the poor seller had to spend $20+ on shipping. It's massive - 3' x 12' and made of heavy vinyl.

Looks to be 1950s. Would be tough to pinpoint it any further. Would you say the graphics are painted/screened on, or more like a "raised velvet"? It's difficult to tell from the provided photo.
