When he posed for his 1925 Exhibit card, I'm guessing that Earl McNeely is still on a happy high from knocking in the winning run in the 12th inning of the 7th game of the 1924 World Series, thereby making Walter Johnson the winning pitcher of the Washington Senators only World Series championship.

It made me wonder if this was the look, Red Oldham gave the last 3 outs to get; in the 1925 World Series; as his team mates take the lead on Walter Johnson in Game 7. All Red had to do was get 3 future Hall of Famers; Sam Rice, Bucky Harris and Goose Goslin. Mission accomplished. Pittsburgh Pirates 1925 World Series Champions. I don't own this card but I will someday. I think it has a real sense of grace to it.

It is a wonderful card for sure. Been on my radar for awhile. As usual I'm waiting for one that hits my cost/condition sweet spot.
