Hey Chris,

Sorry I outbid you on the Schange, but I was immediately outbid as well. Thanks for getting back to me regarding final price for that one.

Scott,

Remember to get one bid in when the auction opens. This gets you into extended bidding and you can bid on any lot at that time.

As far as the Big Head Schang. It was only one of five lots that did not get a bid in the previous auction and ended up going for more then the opening bid in the previous auction. You just never know from auction to auction what people are interested.

Thanks Everyone,

Lee

Default Ruth Exhibit Card

That Ruth Exhibit card is just about the highest price for that card, in a close grade, that I can remember. I invested in the wrong things! (actually, I don't invest, I collect and hopefully they get more valuable)

Setting a price on those 1920s Ruth Exhibit cards is always a bit of a stretch because there are not many that come to market. Forget the nearly impossible 1923-24, which I think would be the second costliest Exhibit behind the Gehrig RC if one comes to market, just about any of the Ruth cards is on a rocket ride. I am really curious to see where the Ruth-Snookums closes is Memory Lane this weekend; that card is rare as hell (per ML, six graded examples). I don't think I am letting the cat out of the bag since it is already at $8500 (with vig) and has a dozen bids. I'd not be surprised to see it close above $20K. Not my card, in case you are wondering.
