Well, I'm kind of torn on this one now that I see the actual card again since its return.

There is a definite off-center issue, as well as a noticeable nick on the side.

I guess my concern with this one is more along the lines of, since no one has any solid info on them, do we know if they were hand-cut...or even how they were cut at all? If something was cut oddly by the manufacturer, isn't that different than "trimmed" by a recipient?

I think it's a different, complete set related to the Colgan's chips also. As for it being from an early candy set. It could have been.

a little late to the party on this one but it's nice to know the story about these Fake Culligan man chips "Square Proofs" from people who have forgot more than I'll ever know about them.

Apparently, there are now "3" total across PSA & SGC. I can see another Fake Swamp find in the very near future uncovering 1000's of these things.

It's out "From the Dan Gantt collection" and "Into the FuddJcal collection" now at record prices like most crap I buy. Thanks again guys for sharing the story. I'm tickled to own it.

I agree, definitely looks hand cut. My personal feeling on these is that they came in some format that allowed a retailer to affix them to some kind of poster or promotional sign in their stores in order to promote the chips by showing what players will be available in the tins. I think that’s why there’s no advertising on the back and some have been found with glue residue of some type on them. I also think these are fairly rare as evidenced by the various pop reports.
