It's good to see that sometimes even Lionel Carter had to take what he could find in some issues.

Back when his collection came to auction, I remember reading/hearing that Lionel had a group of extras he had set aside for trading, left over from the days when he was actively collecting. I imagine a large percentage of the really low graded cards with Lionel Carter on the label were from this trader stash, because as many of us know, Mr. Carter was quite the stickler for condition.
