I have the last card for my 1972 Topps set on its way today.
Bobby Murcer IA is the last card and I purchased this specimen today.

It seems like every time that I tell myself I am only going to collect singles I end up trying to build the set. I'm currently at 137/252 with '50 Bowman. I can't make myself stop buying them. It probably only averages VG overall, with some better/worse, but they are attractive cards nonetheless. This coming on the heels of completing '52 Bowman.

After my last purchase, I am now at 64/104 of the 1951 Topps Red/Blue Backs set. I was going to go for a gradable set, but now I decided to go raw and do it as cheaply as possible. Creases are fine with me if the price is right. Only thing I care about is now paper loss. Got a few more I will be purchasing on COMC this week, so hopefully I can complete this by the end of the year.

Look forward to tracking your 53s on the set thread...I'm right there with you, I'm getting close. Question...did you put in reprints for your graded cards or just left holes? I do reprints and have fun with hit. My Aaron, Kaline, Banks, and Mays are graded as well...

I decided to complete a set of 1968-1972 Fleer Cloth Patches. Something a little different. I did not try to get all the variations, just the 2 types for each team.
My first purchase was for 49 patches. 2 for each of the 24 main teams and a MLB Logo patch. It took me 10 weeks to pick up the last 7 I wanted: 2 patches for the Seattle Pilots and 2 for the Washington Senators. Also picked up the other 3 MLB Logo variations. Some of these are high priced! My total cost was $338.07. $18.15 of that was shipping. About $6.00 per patch on average. Does not include sales tax. Have about a dozen duplicates that I hope to sell for a small profit to offset some of the cost. Mike attach]514596[/attach] |

Thanks, John. No plans to do the Bowman sets yet but if I live long enough who knows! I have plans to add reprints to the binders to fill the holes for my graded / cased cards but I haven’t done it yet. It’s on the list lol

Nice set Chris. Some great looking cards. I just got my Kaline back from SGC for my PC, also a 2.5.

Thank you, sir. 2-2.5 is my sweet spot for the 50s. I don’t need them to be any cleaner and I appreciate the visual representation of these historic pieces of art traversing the last several decades.
