I think this is an insert from a scorecard, hence the confusion:
http://march07.hugginsandscott.com/c...id=4072&catid= It may also have been used in other ways, like with a testimonial brochure: https://www.huntauctions.com/live/im...=335&lot_qual= I have the photo they used for this too:

Bryon very nice photo. I did a bit of research although I did not see the item Hunt Auctions. It would be interesting to see the interior of that one. Clearly the one I have could not have been issued in 1933 given the writup in the interior. A few writeups I have seen attribute it to a Giveaway at Ruths last game where the signed testimonial referanced was given to Ruth. But nothing concrete so far.
What surprised me most was I read newpaper accounts of the game and the crowd was estimated at around Five Thousand.which was twice as many people that showed up to Ruth's final game at Yankee Stadium the crowd for his final Yankee Home game was Under 2,500!!. His final game in Boston did bring out a sellout crowd of over 48k. But surprised to see such small crowds for the games in NY and Washington. In my head when I was told it was from his last game in 1934 I had just assumed it was a sellout and 40k plus were handed out. Below is interior pages |

I'm thrilled to add one of these to my collection. I tend to believe the idea it was an insert...maybe with the program...on that last game in washington.
