Yeah, I just don’t see it. I mean $2m is nothing to sneeze at but it’s arguably the second best player of all time at best (which is amazing but still) and not even signed.

Whoever bought it (might be a group of people) clearly can afford it without breaking a sweat. An "investment" no doubt. The whole concept of the card strikes me as innane.

I'd comfortably say with the degree of derision the card got from many people it will never sell for a profit. But more likely someone will find this post in 10 years and mock me for being an idiot.

The M101-4 Ruth was a record, shattering a different recent psa sale by well over $150k. All the Ruth stuff in Goldin last night did very very well. And the HOF t206s in Heritage all brought strong, if not consistent, results.

Joe Jackson polo grounds went stronger than I wanted on heritage.

I ended up picking up tickets to 1980 usa hockey. Paid more for the gold medal game ticket than the Russia ticket. Same condition. Makes no sense.

Wonder if that was because so many people think the Russia game was for the gold medal.

I don't know if we'll see a trend, but for what they are -- among the very few career Joe Jackson issues none of which are easy to find -- the playing card issues have always struck me as relatively undervalued.

Will be interesting to see how much funny money in the hobby dries up as bitcoin and almost everything else swoons.

Bitcoin will eventually be exposed as the greatest money laundering tool of all time or I will will eat my hat. Government will likely turn a blind eye to it (too complicated) and instead continue to focus on money laundering by pizza places on the Jersey shore and, well, laundry joints. The big fish.
