The best time to leave VA on weekday mornings is right after rush hour. On weekends during the mornings before 10:00. Evenings during the weekends/ weekdays is anyone’s guess. WeekNights after 8:00 p.m. is also good. (This is from my memory when I used to drive from Southern MD to NYC/Maine). You’ll be slowed down by the traffic in DC, Baltimore and Philly if anything.
