This is very helpful to know in terms of cracking out for the buyer, or better yet, even buying, this is very buyer friendly; I like it but only for determination and cracking, not keeping. Sometimes it’s hard to tell what the issue is in a slab unless it's obvious. If a card is re-colored, you don’t want to crack if they say Miscut or trimmed. That’s their opinion. I respect that; however, you can weigh your opinions and either break and try again or try with another TPG.
Very Buyer Friendly!! Sellers not so much, this IMO gives a big advantage to the buyers Last edited by Johnny630; 07-06-2022 at 12:08 PM. |

It is getting to the point where SGC only needs 4 Authentic Flips with the sub grades. It is hard enough to get a numerical grade out of them.
I kid, I kid. Butch

I think it's great that they will be including the reason for an Authentic grade on the flip. I don't mind buying A graded cards, but I do like to know the reason for the grade since it isn't always obvious.

Having more information is always great but those flips lack finesse aesthetically. Adding the word "trimmed" for example to the old A label seems like the better option.

In my opinion, more information is always better. Kudos to SGC. Bold move; I like it.

It appears to be a step in the right direction. It will also generate revenue for SGC for all those of us that want our "A" labeled cards to reside in the new, more informative "AUTHENTIC" holders. I wish they would tell us if they are grading on-site this year at the National. That is the announcement I am waiting for, because there are some cards that I do not trust to the mail system due to rarity.
PS - I would also like to see SGC re-start accepting in-person submissions at their Boca office. This practice was discontinued during COVID. Regards, Paul Last edited by pkaufman; 07-06-2022 at 04:12 PM. Reason: PS |
