Maybe I'm missing something, and no, I didn't watch the vid, but are all MC cards going forward all going to receive an "A" designation only?

If you want to watch the video, I took this post from John Rafferty over on the Postwar Cards board:
https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=5159550440808879 SGC talks about giving undefined A grades in this facebook video from today. I watched the SGC video, and he said if you designate "Authentic Only" then they won't add the information about why the card was given an "A" designation. I wouldn't think so. SGC has just always baked the "MC" that PSA might put on a qualifier into the grade. It's less than clear how this works, IMO. Is an otherwise NM card given a 2 or 3 if blatantly miscut?

if you checked "don't slab as A" you used to get the explanation on a slip that was returned with the card.
Those were more detailed than these, but this is a long overdue addition. |

Exactly. I still have the one from my first ever submission 20 or so years ago, where my '56 Mantle was returned rejected because of "color added." Not understanding how grading really worked at the time, I was like "Oh yeah, well as a kid I did erase the stain off of that corner." They did their job and caught it. A more accurate description of that particular corner might have been "color weird", as none was actually added - but yes, it was an A. I later sent the same card back, requesting an A only slab, and they did it.

I like it. Good move on SGC's part.

On a related note, the most prolific comic book grader- CGC- just announced
that collectors can now access graders' notes(!!!) by using the certification number on the comic book, available on the CGC site. Imagine that ![]() Trent King |

I’m pretty sure CGC did this in response to overwhelming negative reactions to recent changes they’ve made. Maybe they actually spoke with prominent members of the community this time.
