How large is the painting?
Here is Graig Kreindler's Sam Thompson. This painting is based off a cabinet photo from spring of 1886. The Dauvray medals were gifted to the players after the 1887 "World Championship" was complete (Gorham engraved winning team and player names on the medals). I've researched this detail in past but away from my notes at present. I recall that the NL umpire Honest John Gaffney received his Dauvray medal in spring of 1888.

If it's really from the 1800s, I think it would have good value. Not many 19th-century paintings like that around. Rare piece.
