My incorrect first guess was my 2nd favorite Pirate, Manny Sanguillen.

In 1973 he had 589 at bats, 12 home runs with just 17 walks.

Interestingly, he also had only 29 strikeouts, so he was always making contact. Yet his average was just .282.

My guess is Alfredo Griffin - 4 HR/4 BB in 419 AB's in 1984.

Somehow he was an All Star that season...
