I absolutely love those Joss's noting he passed. I think it adds so much character to a card...knowing it was written during the period. I targeted this Chance, specifically b/c of the writing on the back. 1) it's cool that someone took the time to do it way back when...and 2) it made it more affordable.

Had to laugh at the "now dead" caption as if whoever wrote it might forget. BTW I think it's a great looking card.

I like period writing and backstamps, you have to remember for the longest time these cards had no value other than flipping against a wall or putting them in your bike spokes.

Like many, I did this with my Topps cards when I was a kid. However, given the small size of the T206s, I doubt that many were flipped against walls or put in bike spokes.

It is always nice to have personal stats on the card.

Not a T206, and more of an impression than “writing,” but I’m sensing a theme and potential collecting focus here.

Personally love time period writing. Gives me a sense of nostalgia, thinking of some youngster looking and loving the cards. Likely something that will not be replicated in today’s technological world.
Nice Joss!
