Sure there will general approval of this. I think three years in a row in the midwest is dull and will probably supress the Cleveland turn out, but I'm not a dealer and have no skin in the game. I would have put the third in the west (CA) or southwest somewhere.

I'd have a much better chance of selling the National to my wife if it was a joint vacation to say Denver, Austin, Santa Fe, San Fran, Memphis, etc... basically anywhere other than New Jersey, Cleveland, and Chicago (which is a great town, but not every two years).

IF the Cleveland date was in Rosemont it would be better. But this is not bad to me. Of course if it were in Dallas I could just hop over there at lunch
![]() Peckinpaugh is cool with it too.. .

For as much as I love Chicago as a city, I can't stand that venue or area. While it's incredibly convenient for its purpose (a huge bonus), there's nothing to do in that area. It's an absolute bore. I was usually too burnt out after being at the show and just not in the mood for lengthy travels afterward. Even finding something simple to do such as going to a good Mom and Pop diner in the morning isn't anywhere nearby that I could ever find. If you like Mexican food or pricey steak houses, you'll be in heaven, but that's not for everyone.
Cleveland...I do like the venue here a lot more than in Chicago. Love the wide open floor plan which is extremely easy to navigate. Parking is dead simple, plentiful and affordable. From a purely personal perspective, I've had better fortune in at Cleveland Nationals versus those held in Chicago. Not fond of that city, however, and have always had a bit of a drive between venue and hotel if I recall. I can never wait to be on my way out of town. As someone posted in the other National thread, it wouldn't be such a bad idea to do an interchange with Chicago--fresh city--Chicago--fresh city, etc. Perhaps another idea would be Chicago--fresh city--Cleveland, etc. Last edited by BillyCoxDodgers3B; 09-01-2022 at 09:04 AM. |

I am personally of the opinion that much like ComicCon and many other events just parking the show in one place (Chicago) is perfectly fine.
We've gone ad nauseum over this topic and I suspect after many of us are long gone, we'll still be going ad nauseum over this topic but remember there are only "x" amount of places which meet the current group's requirements and we don't yet know if the new management's group is going to be the same way. If so, we're limited to our choices, and we can say what we want and many of us (including me over the years do) but for various BUISNESS reasons our choices are limited. Rich

On the other hand, the porn industry has held their convention in the same place as far back as I can remember (Vegas), and no one's going to argue that they haven't prospered over the years.
