A big thank you to the old friends and new friends who have responded to this post. The reaction has been amazing. It is wonderful to see the number of people collecting Old Judges in so many different ways. I don’t think there has ever been a more interesting set and it is great to see so many enjoying it.
BTW, anyone reading this who has an interest in the set and does not yet have a copy of the Old Judge book—order one. This is not self serving—I don’t make a penny off sales. I just think it is a cheap investment to increase your enjoyment of, and help you make better decisions involving, this set. Thanks again for all your help Jay! Much appreciated. I have fallen in love with Old Judge cards. Thank you for the rec on the book. Got mine and read parts of it every night.

I let Jay know about the slightly esoteric bent of my Old Judge collection (outdoor Brooklyn poses), and soon enough I had a library of choices in my inbox. Agonized for a while, then finally selected one, which was in my hands in no time and as beautiful as promised.

I've been able to build a small but incredible collection of 19th Century cards over the past couple of years thanks to Jay.

I've also sent a handful of my buddies his way looking for hard to find N172's and he's never disappointed.
