Perhaps Leon can institute a system whereby a members identity could be verified via a check mark program. We can even color code it depending on verifiability. Let's say a blue checkmark is the highest level.

Leon can even charge a fee....let's say 8 dollars a month, to prove said person is actually that person.

I mean, who in their right mind would pay 8 dollars a month, if they weren't actually that person???

I don't see how that could possibly go wrong.

It is crappy, you are correct. Everyone needs to be aware of the methods of scamming attempts that are taking place.

As for checkmarks, might have to see how that works out for the social media giant first. I think it could be akin to letting Net54 id's be other people's names.

It was never really free since many were paying up to $50,000 to pretend they were important. They were hustled--just like their followers who huddled around the illusion that they were an "expert".
