Just received this scoreboard in the mail. The Johnnie Neblett story was tragic.

Thank you. I really like the colors! It will be a good thing if there is a long break before another scoreboard that strikes my fancy comes up for sale.

Yes, Columbus Red Birds. Per the seller - "We date this sign as prior to 1941, when Johnnie Neblett left broadcasting the Columbus Redbirds to move to St Louis and then Chicago. Neblett was killed tragically in a plane crash in 1946. So the sign almost certainly dates to the late 1930s, perhaps 1940 or no later than 1941." The sign measures 13 1/2 x 27 1/4 and was made by the Donaldson Art Sign Co. in Covington, Ky.
