I contacted eBay, and was told it's optional for the seller to list a card, at any price, as authenticity guaranteed. I was surprised. I had thought it was not optional above a certain price
Outside John's 4 reasons, is it true that seller can just decide to sell without the guarantee? Seems like that would create a lemons market, in a hurry... |

I am not aware of that. My guess is that person was speaking out of their ear, and not official policy. I did not receive a PM.

According to the info on their FAQ page about the Authenticity Guarantee program, it is still required.
Can I choose not to have my item authenticated? Not at this time. |
