I just saw Lew Alcindor in an episode of "Mannix" recently, and the Harlem Globetrotters were on "The Harlem Globetrotters Meet Scooby Doo."

Bill Buckner on "Curb Your Enthusiasm". Originally he was supposed to drop the baby tossed out of a burning building but they decided to give him a hero moment. Larry David, that curmudgeon, said that he teared up in the editing room watching the ending.

Default Odd Couple

Since Oscar Madison was a sportswriter, there were a decent number of athletes who appeared on the show

From pure memory to start this

Deacon Jones
Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs

and I'm sure there were others

Rich

This is being talked about in a Water Cooler trivia thread. Todd Zeile was in 'The King of Queens'...but he wasn't playing himself, just a normal guy driving Jerry Stiller around. Quite odd.
