If they were a Giants fan too, they may have had this one in their collection. They must have copied the design from one of these. There is no way it is a coincidence.

Nice.... I have always wanted that one, and never snagged one. Couldn't even find an image online. Is that one yours, Marc?

I wish that was mine. It is somewhere on my wantlist. I know that Oooribay has one.
There was one for sale earlier this year at Hunt? It was more than I was willing to pay. There are two versions. One says world champions, the other pennant winners. Last edited by bocca001; 05-08-2023 at 11:32 PM. |

Marc: can you show the stitching on the back? Ad Flag did a good tight stitch - will help to identify |

Here is the spine stitching from the 49ers 1982 pennant.

Not solid proof that it’s them, but it is consistent with Ad Flag. That + the known Ad Flag roster design seems like pretty strong evidence that it is them.
On a related note, Keezer (post 1950) and ASCO also stitched like this. It’s why they don’t suffer from loose threads. |

Apparently a clean clubhouse was very important to them! 😁

Just made arrangements to pick up these three pennants, Senators, Expos and Mets. Not the greatest pics…Can anyone shed some thoughts on value?

What can you guys tell me about this Sox pennant that closed on eBay a few days ago? Except for the condition, it's very visually appealing. The one thing that bothers me is the uniform the player is wearing. It's not consistent.

The same batter graphic appears on a few pennants from the mid 1910s, including a Federal League (Chicago?) pennant and a 1915 Phillies. I think this originated from a magazine cover. The makers didn’t worry about details I guess.

The same Bunting Batter image was also used for the only known St. Louis Browns Oversized Pennant and a Miracle Braves Pennant that I have. It was also used on an issue of Baseball Magazine. I loved the "crossed bats" motif on the Chisox Pennant, but heard that his unusual bunting technique led to some broken fingers.

I was watching that auction and ready to bid. I probably overthought it but the price got too high for me considering the condition of the pennant.

Great looking pennant, even with its condition issues. Seller posted a few more pictures than another pennant seller we know...
