It was a freak injury and nothing could have prevented it but his injuries just keep piling up and hopefully his body does not break down with that contract and the history he could make with his skills

I agree. it's sad to see a generational talent hit a wall. KGJ career came to a clunky end for the last 10 years of his career.

A friend of mine had a similar injury. He was discussing it with his surgeon and asked about the cost of the procedure. The surgeon replied that it would be $2000, but if he needed to use a screw, it would be $3000.

My friend looked at the surgeon and said "Now I know that I am getting screwed."

With fixation of the fracture Trout should be able to return to the lineup sooner though.
