Default 1912 E136-2 Zeenut Claude Berry...an 18 year wait!

I started a run of "Catcher Pose" 1912 Zeenuts back in 2005.

Most of the cards came fairly easily in the next few years. However, one card eluded me for 18 years. It rarely showed up for sale and when it did it's condition was always very rough!

Recently a lot of 1912 Zeenuts appeared on eBay and the Claude Berry 1912 Zeenut was part of the eight card lot.

It took 18 years to find this example which fits right in with my other 1912 Zeenuts!

Thrilled to finally receive this card this afternoon.

Patrick

Been after a T213 for awhile for my Hooks PC, and I finally landed one!

Nice video Rhett, great cards, and I agree these should be classified as an 'E' set instead of 'W' (just like other box candy cards like the Orange Borders, Baseball Bats, J=K, Schapira etc.), and that the ACC should be a living catalog of the cards we collect, because discoveries like the Snap Shot box you showed (nice replica, by the way) should be noted and classifications changed, for both accuracy and the benefit of the collecting community.

But TPG's seem to prefer that all this info (card classification, year of issue, etc.) to be set in stone to what it was 25 years ago, so the living catalog idea has an uphill battle to catch on.

Starting a budget Jimmie Foxx PC.

A 1931 W517 is with SGC (likely a 2-3), and I took a flyer on this one recently.

Buying raw vintage can be a dangerous game, but I see no reference to R315 reprints, and the print lines/smudges at the bottom do not match any other examples I could find. Will also send to SGC, and would be thrilled with an "A" for what I paid.

1929-30 R315

Nice Foxx. I believe the "1st Base" caption is tougher -- most I have seen just name him as "Fielder"-- at least the white ones.
