As others have mentioned, there is a big difference between the 1914 and 1915 Cracker Jack. Likewise, there is also a big difference between all the different versions of the E-horizontal Mathewson. There are quite a few versions that are way more difficult than the 1914 Cracker Jack. Those varities I think may have more of an upside, at least as a percentage. If someone is just looking for the front though, they can easily pick from the E92 Dockman/E101/E102/E106. Those I don't see appreciating as much.

Aesthetically, I never cared for the 1914 Cracker Jack so it is really far down my list of cards I'd want and I wouldn't pay anywhere near what they sell for even if I could afford it. IMO, it is really not that rare and it is overvalued now. I would much more prefer the 1915 or E-horizontal or E93 or E90-1 or E103 or ...

I prefer the aesthetics of the horizontal E101, E102, etc Mathewson over the 1914 Cracker Jack. But it is hard to argue that the '14 Cracker Jack is not a rare card. PSA has graded 28 and SGC has graded 27.

PSA has graded 42 Mathewson Dockman & Sons E92s, 13 Mathewson E92 Crofts Candy, 5 Mathewson Crofts Cocoa E92s, 1 Mathewson Nadja Caramel E92, 30 Mathewson E101s, 51 Mathewson E102s, 4 Mathewson E105s, 6 Mathewson T216s, 1 Mathewson D303 Mother's Bread, 16 Mathewson E106s.

So that's a total of (at least) 167 horizontal E/D Mathewsons graded by PSA alone.

I'm an E98 guy so I'm partial to that one. Then I really like the E horizontal pose a lot as well. My order of most desired would be this same order; the E98, then the E horizontal pose, then the CJ.

I believe this is an instance where a Net54 user ID should logically be changed to:

"MrToughforOtherstoComebyMattyFronts"

I am usually not much help when assessing value/undervalued status, but here roughly is my aesthetic ranking of Matty E-cards, based on memory..
I may have forgotten an issue or two...does Matty have a E300 Plows Candy card? If so, it would probably rank near the top):

E-hoeizontal issues (E92, E101, E102, E105...but not E106, which I believe is the set that has the excessive coloration issues mentioned previously).

E107 ( kinda in its own time frame category)

E103

E93

E-Unc Orange Borders

1915 Cracker Jacks

E95 (not much mention about this one)

E98

E95

1914 Cracker Jacks

E90-1

E91A

E91B

E-unc All-Star cards? (I had to put something below my belovingly maligned E91 cards)

Brian (and excuse me if I have misinterpreted how fetching your favorite Matty is in my ranking)
