This is a stretch because I am matching a first name to a last name but...

In 1910, Sherry Magee had his best season, leading the league in R, RBI, BA, OBP, SLG, OPS, OPS+, TB, and WAR (most, but not all, of these categories were also career bests).

In 1959, Larry Sherry was the World Series MVP, going 2-0 for the Dodgers with an 0.71 ERA and saving the two games he did not win (he did not start a game but finished every game the Dodgers won).

I am not sure if these names "coincide" enough to be the answer Ted is looking for...if not, I will keep looking.

Edited to add: it turns out Sherry is not a "1950's Topps guy" since his first card was in 1960. So I will try again tomorrow.

Default TRIVIA.....the NAME's the SAME....a T206 guy "coincides" with 1950's TOPPS guy

Bill and Michael

Not the players I am looking for. Continue your search, and I'll bet one you will get the right answer.

Thanks,

Bob "Dusty" Rhodes pitched for the Cleveland Indians and had a t206 card. James "Dusty" Rhodes was the World Series hero for the Giants beating the Indians in the 1954 World Series.

I don't have a James "Dusty" Rhodes card to show. Perhaps, someone will post one here.

I had no clue until that last hint. I knew there was a Rhoades Cleveland in my t206 set and of course Dusty Rhodes killed the Indians in the 1954 World Series going 4 for 6 with 2 HRs and 7 RBIs.
