I agree, if you live on the east coast these auction's end way too late, somebody needs to come up with some new creativity.
Thanks, John |

Anyway, I won 2 items last night, the T205 lot of 44 with a Mathewson (which was right at the top of where I priced it) and this beauty. ![]() Piedmont 42s are tough, and this one is no exception. Got it right at the top of my price limit. Very happy to add this one. |

Congrats to whomever won the Lou Gehrig 55 hocus focus.
I placed a high bid marker days ahead and it held up (at my max) until 7pm that i know of and left it at that. SUPRISED--only 1 bid afterwards it seems. Congrats.

Thanks Love of the Game - Al and all his staff - for a great auction.
Thrilled to pick up 2 beautiful cards - 1 for my T206 set and one for my T205 set. Thanks! |

I think it's totally understandable and acceptable for small auction houses that struggle to land a lot of quality consignments to stay open until the early morning hours. It probably makes consignors feel better and helps the auction house squeeze out a few more dollars. Great auction Al and team!

Great auction and great auction house. As a purchaser and a consignor, LOTG is top notch in all respects.
The top of my list every time I decide to consign. |

Being an old fart who lives in VA, I can't manage to stay awake until the LOTG auctions close. At the very least, I wish Al would change the overtime bidding that begins at 1 a.m. ET to have the lots that remain open close individually.

Was anyone here bidding on the Oscar Charleston?
Even the opening bid was far too rich for my blood. But, it's a very cool card. I was the underbidder on the Aguilitas Charleston that popped up at REA (that was mentioned in the description for this one) when it was raw in a collection. If I had any idea it'd sell for what it sold for at REA, I would've bit the bullet and bid more. Also, I'm kind of surprised there was no action on that 1879 contract. I would've thought 3k seemed like a solid value for an opening price. Last edited by Prof; 08-21-2023 at 09:00 AM. |
