Great, GREAT stuff guys! I have lots of cards that I love, but it’s the totality of my collection that gives me joy. That said, I love super unique, super oddball, super rare items. For me, this postcard captures all three of those attributes to a tee!
This postcard was sent by HOF umpire Bill McGowan to his then girlfriend in 1915. I’ve never seen anything like it, but I love it! McGowan umpired in the tri-state league in 1913, so I presume this postcard was made then and probably by him. He would have only been 17 years old!!!! At the time of this discovery, the earliest known card of McGowan was from 1948. So this pre-dates that card by roughly 35 years!!
