Dietsche postcards on uncut sheets
I found this ad from the Detroit Free Press 1907. Did not know the Dietsche postcards were available on uncut sheets. Are there any out there in the hobby somewhere? There was a similar ad for the Tigers set on the same page.

I once had one I traded in the 1990’s. I got it so cheaply and could not find ant others I was afraid it might not have been authentic. Your ad shows it was and proves I am frequently an idiot.

Not too familiar with postcard issues, but I wonder if these Dietsche postcards are sometimes found with uneven border cuts, which would indicate that some of these sheets got ordered and then cut up.
bgar3, was that sheet you had blank backed? Brian Last edited by brianp-beme; 12-15-2023 at 05:14 PM. |

Yeah, my question would be, would it have been an uncut sheet, or a poster with the same poses?

Good question. I had not thought of that possibility.

Brian, I believe it was blank backed. I do not remember any postcard info or anything on the back. Having said that, it was 30 or more years ago.

If you can recall, was the sheet of postcard thickness material and laid basically flat, or was the paper thin like a poster and thus would naturally roll up into tube shape? To me it seems that cut down individual blank backs of these would be out there...anyone have any? And for the real memory test...what did you have for breakfast on the day you obtained it? Brian |

Brian, I do not remember it being on thin paper, and likely coffee and some sort of cheerios. 😁. I do remember the guy I traded it to, told me he sold or traded it to a Cobb collector.

Bruce - Is the what you had, or was it an actual production sheet?
