I'll be curious to see the grades vs expectations for this submission. After a pretty long streak of terrible vintage grades, I finally got a bulk vintage PSA order back this week with accurate grades.

I thought I did OK....everything looked accurate to me. Maybe others can chime in?

Given that long streak, why are you still submitting to PSA, if I may?

I have definitely started sending a lot of the stuff I used to send to PSA over to SGC now. But for certain cards, it's still worth the gamble at PSA. Sometimes you get a fair grader there. It's a roll of the dice. I use my own grading probability distributions to decide where to send what.

With all the noise from vintage collectors screaming from the rooftops at PSA regarding harsh grades of vintage, you'd have to assume at some point they actually start listening to their customers and hold a grading realignment meeting with the grading team. Especially when those complaints are coming from long time seasoned hobby vets who know what they're talking about. Perhaps that has recently happened? It's still too early to tell, but my most recent submission and this submission both being accurate is at least a sign of hope.

There are a lot of things I like about SGC. The prices they bring versus PSA is not one of them.

Snowman posted several examples of how the exact same card actually brings more in a SGC slab.

The data scientist cherry-picked his data...

I'm in agreement Scott....as a whole, PSA brings higher prices. Do you notice that in your auctions as well Scott? I would LOVE to see them both bring the same comps. That is simply not reality though.

i hope that happens. I have hundreds of cards I haven't sent in because it's just not worth it in a harsh, punishing grading environment, but would like to grade them someday if there is hope for accuracy.

I know that some people who have been grading since the start claim that PSA goes in cycles, oscillating back and forth between harsher grades and softer grades. This hasn't been my observation, but it seems plausible. I've been waiting for a correction for years now. We'll know soon enough if it's actually here or if it's still business as usual though. That data will come in pretty quickly.

I have a few hundred cards out at any given time. Unfortunately I haven't noticed a pattern, but if I start to see something I'll share.
