Yes, and also eerily reminiscent of 1939 Play Balls. In fact, the Gehringer appears to be the same image used in the set. The Teddy is a much-used image, and we've certainly seen the DiMaggio shot over the years as well.

They definitely appear more modern to me. Stock looks newer and thinner than what Burke used in the late 1930's and there appears to be a graininess issue with the clarity. Anything on the backs?

Perhaps early George Brace reprints? If player names are hand-printed at the tops on the back, I'll certainly recognize if they originated from Brace.

George Burke images were used for the Play Ball sets and several other issues in the 1930's.

I'm not saying for certain that they are not newer. The backs are creamy looking. Paper stock is fairly thin. Definitely has the look of a 39 PB. Williams image is a little grainy. The collection that they came in leads me to believe that they are not modern. Definitely not modern as in 80's or up. The range of the collection was 1906 to 1970's. And the level of obscure stuff in this collection (15 M101 Herpolsheimer backs was probably the biggest schocker) was unreal. I'll keep looking for info.
Were there picture packs that would include these three?
