Yea, hard to believe by the image!
But in fairness he threw and led league with 389 inning that year! Won 33 games with a 1.55 era, .95 whip, 172 K's, 45 games started, 38 complete games!, 16 Shut outs! ... all black ink stats! It's incredible the number of years he began his career with over 300 innings pitched, only to have streak interrupted by WW1! Had he not been hurt in WW1, I don't think it's crazy to think he may have been top ranked pitcher in history, or at least top 3. His numbers through age 30 1917 season are mind boggling!
