Simply put it doesn't matter to those doing it and it you plan on dying with your toys like myself, I guess do what you will. At bottom, unless people are keeping their cards and just like them better if they look better, it's all an exercise in deception ultimately, driven by money. All the pretzel-twisted logic and justification in the world won't change that. If you (generic) really believe it's immaterial, just say what you did to the card and let buyers judge.
